Lemon Sugar Scrub DIY recipe

LEMON SUGAR SCRUB

YOU WILL NEED:

  • 8 Lemons, organic
  • 4lbs fine Cane Sugar, raw, organic
  • 500mL Grapeseed Oil, raw/virgin organic
  • 16oz Coconut Oil, raw/virgin organic

MAKES: 10 x 8oz jars

DIRECTIONS:

  1. PREPARE INGREDIENTS
      • Grate the peels of your 8 Lemons
      • Measure 4lbs Cane Sugar into large bowl, set aside
      • Pour 500mL Grapeseed Oil into container, set aside
      • Heat your Coconut Oil on lowest temp.—just enough to achieve a mostly liquid state
      • Transfer your warmed Coconut Oil into large bowl, and place in freezer for 20-30 minutes
      • Whip Coconut Oil, then chill and whip and chill and whip—appx 4-5 sessions until you achieve a nice, smooth, frosting-like consistency
    1. COMBINE INGREDIENTS
        • Add Lemon Peel to your bowl of Sugar and hand mix
        • Gradually blend Grapeseed Oil into whipped Coconut Oil, being careful to maintain the light whipped consistency
        • In new bowl, Combine portions of your Lemon/Sugar mixture with portions of your Grapeseed/Coconut Oil mixture until completely integrated.
        1. FINISH PRODUCT
            • Spoon mixture into re-sealable glass containers of your choosing
            • Tap jars to settle contents, then seal
            • Lemon Sugar Scrub is now ready for use and/or gifting
            • This formula will keep well for up to a few months at room temp and even longer if kept in the fridge (especially nice straight from the fridge in warmer months). Just be sure to keep from heat to prevent separation!
