hello, again

After a bit of a regathering hiatus, it seems especially appropriate to celebrate our relaunch as Mercury is coming out of what felt like a more thorough than usual retrograde. We’re also stepping out of dormancy on the tail of a Leo New Moon, representing the archetype of the courageous and optimistic entrepreneurial spirit, encouraging each of us to share our unique light with the world in a way that is true to our being. So… hello, again.

Admittedly, I most often make use of my astrological resources when life feels on tilt or when I have a subtle nagging sense that seems to contradict my logical assessment and I want to suss out what exactly I should trust. I consider myself more an astrology appreciator than a student or even a follower. Most often, I prefer to challenge myself to attune to my own inner compass. But the world can often be so noisy and my monkey mind so hyperactive... When I do seek a little guidance, it feels like a nourishing and comforting chat with a wise friend and I’m back on course bolstered by a bit more clarity and confidence in the workings of my small but significant experience within the cosmic order. So, after more than a handful of delays with our brand relaunch, I sought a little astro insight to confirm what my innermost self already knew was right and good about the great changes and challenges I’ve been navigating.

I found particular encouragement within the excerpts included in Mystic Mamma’s update this week:

ROBERT WILKINSON from his Aquarius Papers says:

“Accept the releases, see what you care about, and use the revelations you’ve received the past 3 months to reorient.

“We’ve built our connections, and this period stabilizes our expansion

“Remember as we have awakened, we are moving from letting go to finding allies with whom we can do good ‘bridge building’ work which will help us ‘cross the chasm’ where we will find ‘a new quality of being rendering the old patterns obsolete.’

“If some things have fallen apart, it’s only for the best.

“As we externalize our recent self-discoveries, we will find greater happiness and a natural personality integration which could lead to experiences of Love, Joy, and Bliss.”

This wisdom was especially resonate with me as I now emerge on the other side of having my world recently flipped on it’s head. This past April, conspiring—beneficently conspiring—factors had aligned to bring on some very uncomfortable and unanticipated changes. It was one of those times in which you’re put through the washing machine of life and hung out to dry for a bit. In fact, I had wanted the change and planted the seeds for what would eventually emerge from it, though my ambivalence around wanting to satisfy obligations and not disappoint others while trying to accomplish the changes that I knew were best for myself made for a bumpy ride. How to give everyone what they desire and expect while also doing what I know I is best for my own well-being? This is a quandary one will often experience when others rely on what they’ve been providing—which is a position many if not most of us will find ourselves in at some point—if not daily—especially if we put too much stock in what others say they need from us along with our own sense of obligation to deliver it.

The beauty of this Leo New Moon is the encouragement to live as the Queen or King of your own Queendom/Kingdom and inspire that same divine royal radiance to shine from within others as you embody it within yourself. How different that is from acting a source for others. To light the divine flame within many, many other receptive individuals simply by radiating your own sounds to me like a beautiful world we could all very contentedly co-exist in.

From Moon Woman, Tanishka:

Leo asks us to step into our sacred, sovereign heart to claim our inner mantle of kingship / queendom. We do this by daring to do whatever it takes to create the vision we are divinely gifted for our lives, even when it asks us to grow beyond our fears. We then amplify our inner light step-by-step & become a shining example for others to do the same, leading by example as an inspiration.

The words of Marianne Williamson come to mind around this Leo theme of claiming your grand divinity and refusing to play small:

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of "A Course in Miracles"

Lastly, I share some words of wisdom from my teacher Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche regarding the Lion’s Roar, a metaphorical practice of fearlessness that cuts through the layers of neurosis that prevent us from living as our whole and authentic selves:

We could regard enlightenment as the product of the fearfulness of ego, which constantly tries to maintain itself and to run away from any threats that might reveal its nonexistence. The samsaric kleshas, or conflicting emotions—passion, aggression, and ignorance—are what prevent us from being fully awake. They are the product of the fearfulness of ego, which constantly tries to maintain itself and to run away from any threats that might reveal its non-existence. The Lion’s Roar is the proclamation of non-existence that cuts through these conflicting emotions and allows us to experience the indestructible quality of wakefulness.

As we celebrate our relaunch and reemergence after a period of recalibration and redefining, I invite you to reflect on your own past few months of reorientation:

How will you commit to showing up now after taking stock, over these past few months, of what is good and right for you?

What does sovereignty mean to you and what does your own sovereign life look like?

How will you move forward from this point in tending to the flame of your own divine greatness so as to light a path that is true and substantive in your own life?

Will you commit to shining your light unabashedly so that others may be moved to embody their own greatness through experiencing the genuineness of your own being?

Whether an entrepreneur or not, how do you invest in your own talents, skills, interests and passions?
